I grew up Adventist, I absolutely don't remember any of what this Jamaican brother is talking about. My foundation in Christianity is from the SDA church. We believe in the holy trinity, I seldom heard about EGW, and we used KJV or NIV or Good News Bible translation. Not to take away from his experience in The Jamaican SDA church, but that's not my experience in the Nigerian SDA church. I left the church because my husband is pentecostal... Thereby following him.

This is some controversial stuff being uttered here. As a Seventh Day Adventist I really trust that our true leaders are able to make these fallacies clear at a follow up session. I do not belong to a cult.

As a current Adventist, I have to admit that the great controversy, investigative judgement, etc are things that are taught BUT the amount depends on region and individual churches. I am thankful that there are many Adventist members and pastors pushing back on these doctrines and minimizing EGW.

Jamaican here! I’m not a part of the SDA church nor am I really familiar with the SDA church a part from a few family members that are SDA’s. First and foremost I would like to thank the Perry’s, Pastor Mason, and Bro. Thunder for presenting such an eye-opening and enlightening podcast. Secondly, my take away from this video is maybe your SDA church doesn’t follow the strict writings and teachings of EGW but, you can’t deny that her teachings is the foundation of the SDA Church. It’s also all over UA-cam and Google and backs up what Brother Thunder said in this podcast. Thirdly, this podcast has also given me a better understanding of why some of my SDA family members are so judgmental, are strict vegans, and and believe some of the most ridiculous things that they profess; such as, you’re not to relax your natural hair nor alter it in any kind of way because it is sinful. I’m woke! 😂😂 I gotta go watch part 1!!!

This episode blessed me beyond words. It's refreshing to see/hear real and compassionate conversations about mental health, particularly when it goes deeper beyond anxiety and depression. It certainly does not feel good to be misrepresented by other people of influence. What would Jesus do if He was misrepresented? How do we think the Angel Gabriel felt when from 1844 to 2024 many Millerites have and SDAs continue to misrepresent the angelic interpretation given in Daniel 8:15-27 to explain Daniel 8:9-14? In 1844 when the churches who rejected the false date setting of the Millerite Movement, those churches were misrepresented by being called Babylon. They were also misrepresented as having no more salvation by a "shut door." Why? Because they believed Jesus' words which said: “¶But of that DAY and that HOUR KNOWETH NO MAN, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.” (Mark 13:32, KJV) And when nothing happened on October 22nd 1844, how did God feel when Ellen White seemed to suggest that God was the Author of Mistakes and Lies? "I have SEEN that the 1843 chart was DIRECTED BY THE HAND OF THE LORD, and that it should not be altered; that the FIGURES WERE AS HE WANTED THEM; that HIS HAND was over and HID A MISTAKE in some of the figures, so that none could see it, until His hand was removed." {Early Writings, 74.1} EGW was saying that she saw in vision, that God directed false dates, and hid those false dates with His hand. According to the Bible narrative, was God ever the Author of Lies? Or is He always the Author of truth? “That by two immutable things, in which it was IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD TO LIE, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that WITHIN THE VEIL; Whither the forerunner IS FOR US ENTERED, even Jesus, made an HIGH PRIEST for ever after the order of Melchisedec.” (Hebrews 6:18-20, KJV) If one claims to believe the Bible narrative, then one would definitely have to admit that long before 1844, the Bible writer of Hebrews was teaching that Messiah entered the Most Holy Place "within the veil" before 70AD, which is over 1774 years before 1844 AD. Which means that God has been misrepresented from 1844 to 1915 and by Ellen White and by her followers from 1844 to 2024. Some repented of the misrepresentations. The person who first wrote out the 1844 Shut Door, Investigative Judgment teaching, ORL Crozier, HUMBLY discarded his old teachings and admitted: "On account of our ignorance of the scriptures my argument was more fully and more widely accepted than it deserved to be." The 1844 Investigative Judgment prophetess said: "William Miller had no sympathy with those influences that led to fanaticism." GC 396.2 What did Miller have to say which showed that he clearly rejected Ellen White and all the so called "light" that they taught? On August 1st, 1845, Miller confessed: "We expected the personal coming of Christ at that time; and now to contend that we were not (1)MISTAKEN, is DISHONEST. We should never be ashamed FRANKLY to confess our (1)ERRORS. That’s what every single SDA in the whole wide world is being taught every day at home, and then they talk about it once a week in church. SDA member here. So many thoughts about this one. But I'll share just a few: 1. @preston I encourage you to do a series where you talk about the positive contributions of various religions. 2. Consider that it matters less what you believe and more about what power that belief has to transform your life and change the world; 3. Suggesting that SDA is a cult is preposterous and intellectually lazy clickbait. I think most SDA pastors and ex-SDAs (like Bro. T) who engage in this discussion are the ones who like to argue theology. But there's much more to Adventism (or any other religious community) than that. God bless 🙏🏿

The Bible Its An Idol And It’s the Mark Of The Beast 🕊💖 True Christians worship God in the SPIRIT, not in the dead letter. Satan took the old covenant, mixed it with the new covenant making another covenant saying that the bible is the word of God. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are under the OLD Covenant. For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator lives. When Jesus was not yet crucified in MT, MK, LK and JN, He was going about fulfilling the law. All scripture is/(was) given by inspiration was talking about the Old Covenant and it was only profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction not for salvation. The bible was interpolated, words were erroneously added according to the mind of the translator. The scriptures are not profitable for salvation, only for knowledge. The saints under the Old Covenant slept in the grave until Jesus was crucified, then the vail was rent in twain and many of the old saints rose from the grave. Paul told Timothy ‘stir up the gift of God in you Timothy’ And ‘neglect not the gift of God in you Timothy’ But all that bible worshipers can see is “all scripture was given by inspiration of God”. They search the scriptures for in them they THINK they have eternal life but they never come to the Living Christ that they might actually have life. (John 5:39-40) Bible worshipers are covenant breakers. IS THE BIBLE GOD’S WORD? NO! When Jesus/Yeshua speaks a word, it is Spirit and it is Life. Jesus can say “peace be still” and the wind will stop blowing. When the words Jesus spoke are written down in a book that Satan is using, then the bible becomes the word of Satan. So in reality the bible has become the word of the devil. The devil had two evil rulers compile and authorize the bible to usurp God’s authority for his own use. Constantine the sun-god worshiper had it compiled and his wicked bishops determined which books were allowed in it. Then King James the 2nd beast 66 book authorized version is used by the devil to control and keep people out of the control of God through the Holy Spirit. An image of God’s word made to speak “the bible says” The gospel is not written with ink, but by the Spirit of the Living God. There are 45,000 different bible denominations all full of evil and confusion. And 2.6 billion bible worshiping sinners. The bible has become the word of Satan because Satan uses it to keep people from coming to the Living Christ, they keep looking for Him in the dead letter instead of in the Spirit where He can actually be found. Ask Jesus Yeshua for the Holy Spirit and quit looking to the bible so you can overcome the mark of the beast. Then when you do read the bible, read it only as history because that is all it is.
